We would like to make a brief introduction of the Principle of SCR system.

SCR is the abbreviation of Selective Catalytic Reduction.

The purpose of reduction is to reduce NOx to N2 and H2O through the reaction of NH3(reducing agent ) and NOx.

NO + NO2 + 2NH3->2N2+ 3H2O

4NO +O2 + 4NH3 -> 4N2+ 6H2O

2NO2 + O2 + 4NH3-> 3N2 + 6H2O

 

The reducing agent currently used in SCR system is 32.5% urea solution. After adding H2O to urea NH2CONH2, it decomposes into NH3 and CO2 at high temperature.

NH2CONH2 + H2O -> 2 NH3 + CO2
