The official shuttle bus for the 26th United Nations Climate Conference

According to Busnet.com, on October 14, 2021 local time, BYD and British bus manufacturer partner Alexander Dennis (ADL) announced that the two parties have tailored 22 units for the Scottish bus operator First Bus. The BYD ADL Enviro200EV pure electric single-deck bus will become the official connection vehicle for the 26th United Nations Climate Conference (COP26). These buses will travel to and from Glasgow city, as well as the blue and green areas of the main venue of COP26, providing zero-emission travel services for global participants.

As a leader in low-carbon travel in the United Kingdom, First Bus has purchased 22 BYD ADL Enviro200EV pure electric single-deck buses this year. These buses have been produced in Falkirk, a local factory in Scotland that BYD and ADL have cooperated with. It is 11.6 meters long and has a mileage of 160 miles on a single charge.

In addition, the project is supported by the Scottish Government’s “Ultra Low Emission Bus Program”, which aims to promote the procurement of zero-emission buses by bus operators. It is worth mentioning that this investment also allows First Bus to transform its traditional old bus station into the largest electric bus station in the UK.

These vehicles are produced locally, which also makes us green. Investment further stimulates local employment, promotes the development of the entire upstream and downstream industries of Scotland’s buses, and benefits all Scottish people.”

First Bus Acting General Manager Duncan Cameron said: “It is a great honor to be selected as the official public transport operator of COP26.
