New energy vehicle development and environment
Xie Qiu first analyzed the development environment of the new energy industry: the current market development has exceeded expectations. From January to August, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles exceeded 10%, and the penetration rate in a single month in August even reached 17%, which is basically close to the national 2025. The annual penetration rate of 20% is planned. According to current development trends, sales of new energy vehicles are expected to exceed 2.5 million in 2021, and it is expected to challenge 8 million in 2025, far exceeding the current national plan.
The rapid development of the new energy industry has a huge impact on the environment and resource load, and poses a very big challenge to the power battery industry. General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the “dual carbon” goal not only for environmental considerations, but also for economic considerations-reducing carbon means reducing costs for the industrial chain. To achieve the carbon peak in 2030, it is now necessary to start to establish relevant data models, and to establish a plan for scientific quantitative management of the entire industry chain and the entire life cycle in the manufacturing, transportation, use and recycling of power batteries. Life cycle green ecological technology
Xie Qiu elaborated on the life cycle green ecological technology from four aspects. One is high energy density: From the perspective of energy density, the consumption of resources and emission reduction can be reduced from three aspects. The most intuitive thing is to reduce the weight of the vehicle, reduce the energy consumption of the vehicle, and improve the efficiency of battery production. The company continues to make new breakthroughs in liquid battery technology, moving towards 350-400 Wh/kg energy density; combined with key technological research, the next-generation lithium-sulfur battery soft pack battery energy density will reach 450Wh/kg, or even more than 500Wh/kg. The second is high-efficiency manufacturing technology: From two aspects of material innovation and battery scale manufacturing, manufacturing efficiency is greatly improved, and energy consumption is effectively reduced. The third is long-life technology: research and development of long-life graphite composite anode technology to reduce consumption. At the same time, in-situ lithium replenishment technology is being developed for the anode and electrolyte additives are optimized to achieve the best dynamic charging strategy throughout the life cycle. The fourth is low internal resistance technology: the development of positive and negative materials with high reaction kinetics, the use of high kinetic fast charging solution and pore filling low liquid retention technology, to achieve multiple forms of optimal combined charging strategy.
Technical ideas facing the TWh era
Finally, Xie Qiu introduced the company’s technical ideas for the TWh era. The 2-3GWh single production line in the TWh era can no longer meet the demand for large-scale manufacturing, and a single production line should reach more than 10GWh. Facing the upcoming TWh era, starting from the underlying product functions, starting from the basic technical principles, refactoring product design, and refactoring the manufacturing process, we proposed the design concept of One-Stop. This concept is based on the product design and manufacture of “highly integrated and extremely simplified”, and realizes the product’s requirements for “high specific energy, high safety, high reliability, and low cost”. Under the exploration and application practice of this concept, on the one hand, the new product design and manufacturing process breaks through the physical bottleneck caused by many existing serial processes and structural composition, and greatly improves the integration efficiency and manufacturing efficiency; at the same time, the product itself The structure is simpler, the number of parts is more streamlined, and the manufacturing process integration is higher. Therefore, the reliability of the product and the manufacturing efficiency are further greatly improved. This technical concept is not only applicable to battery cell products, but also applicable to PACK products. The battery using this technology is the fourth packaged product after cylindrical, soft bag and square.
One-Stop has developed many original technologies, including ultra-thin shell wall, multi-dimensional shell molding, multi-functional composite packaging, integrated bridging electrical connection, high-shear external insulation, in-situ dust-free assembly integration and other technologies, which reduce the weight of the structure. 40%, the number of parts has been reduced by 25%, and the production efficiency has been increased by 100%.
The products using this technology, iron-lithium support 700km battery life, ternary support 1000km battery life, are expected to be on the market in June 2022.
