What is regeneration
In order to meet the National 6 standards for exhaust emissions, an important new component of the engine post-treatment system -DPF (particle catcher), which is used to capture harmful particles in the exhaust, so as to reduce the emission of PM particles. DPF will collect the exhaust gas, harmful particles for filtration, oxidation, this process is called regeneration.
Why regenerate?
When a DPF collects enough harmful particles, it causes a DPF blockage. Regeneration can effectively keep the DPF unobstructed, extend the service life, and reduce the cost of use and maintenance.
Several ways to regenerate
The regeneration function can be classified into active regeneration and passive regeneration according to the starting mode. Passive regeneration is always carried out. However, if the driver’s speed is slow and the DPF temperature is low, the oxidation speed of carbon particles is slow, and DPF blocking will occur.
Active regeneration can also be divided into two types. One is running regeneration without manual operation. When the vehicle is running at normal uniform speed and the engine is in the best condition, in this case, DPF can be active regeneration without affecting the driving.
The second is the parking regeneration, which is the active regeneration that needs to be manually operated when the vehicle is stationary. The card friend needs to confirm that the clutch pedal, brake pedal and accelerator pedal are not pressed down, and confirm that the no regeneration switch is not pressed down. If this switch is pressed down, the active regeneration cannot be carried out. In order to prevent the exhaust temperature is too high, there are safety risks, normal driving must not press, at the engine idling at the same time, long press the DPF idle switch for two seconds, the engine speed will surge to 2500 RPM -3000 RPM, keep the engine running, until the engine speed back to idle, idle one minute to put out the engine, it is worth noting that, According to the size of DPF and the degree of blockage, the length of parking regeneration time is also different.
The third kind of service regeneration, when the parking regeneration cannot be performed on the vehicle, the driver can choose to use the L230 DPF regeneration instrument carried by him for one-button regeneration. For those with excessive carbon load and unable to perform regeneration, the driver can choose to perform regeneration after carbon load reset.
