Application: The particulate matter (PM) sensor system is designed to monitor the failure of the diesel particulate trap in the diesel aftertreatment system.
The sensor measures soot emission levels by accumulating soot from the exhaust stream rather than in real time. The amount of carbon particles accumulated on the sensor is proportional to the amount of carbon smoke emitted from the exhaust gas.
