The fuel metering unit usually consists of a valve core, a housing with a solenoid coil, and a plunger. When the engine is running, the ECU controls the fuel metering unit by calculating the injection amount and the rail pressure difference. The ECU controls the current of the solenoid coil through the duty cycle signal to adjust the position of the valve core and then adjust the oil volume.
